Everyone deserves a fair shot
Born and raised in Spokane, Zack comes from generations of workers who helped to make Spokane a better place.
I’m running for re-election to fight to make sure every generation has a fair shot.

MEET Zack
Born and raised in Spokane to a working class, union family, Zack Zappone graduated from North Central, just like his grandpa, before working at McDonalds to put himself through college. Zack earned a full ride scholarship to study Public Policy and Urban Planning at Princeton. While his peers went off to work on Wall Street, Zack returned home to teach in English and history in our public schools.
After getting elected to the city council in 2021, Zack is running for re-election to keep fighting for Spokane’s working and middle class families by improving public safety, addressing affordability, and building 21st century infrastructure. While raising his family, Zack also teaches social studies part-time at his alma mater North Central High School.
What We’re Up Against
Spokane’s wealthiest developers and realtors are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into this race to buy influence.
Our opponent stands with them and supports extreme measures like President Trump deploying the National Guard into Spokane neighborhoods
Zack is standing up to these powerful interests because Spokane deserves better. He’s focused on fighting for Spokane’s working and middle-class families to push our city forward.

Building a Safer, More Affordable Spokane for Everyone
Zack Zappone is fighting for Spokane’s working and middle-class families, not special interests or wealthy developers.

Affordability
Zack has lowered costs for families, expanded childcare, reduced bus fares, and created more family-wage jobs. He is fighting to make Spokane a city where working people can afford to live and raise a family.

Housing and Homelessness
Zack delivered record housing growth, reformed outdated rules, and banned public camping. His balanced approach focuses on compassion and accountability, offering treatment first and enforcement last. He is working to build the facilities Spokane needs to end homelessness the right way.

Safer Neighborhoods and Safer Streets
Zack has increased police funding, brought back neighborhood resource officers, expanded behavioral health crisis teams, and is building 27 miles of connected bike and pedestrian routes by 2027.
Zack is running for re-election to keep fighting for a Spokane that works for everyone, not just the powerful few.
My record on homelessness
and open drug use

I voted to reinstate the Prop 1 camping ordinance, backed by 75% of voters, but it failed.

I voted to ban public camping citywide

I voted to ban open drug use
Now I led a bipartisan effort for a balanced approach to give officers discretion to connect people to services and enforcement
